Men’s Golf Activities

As this is my first note as Chairman of the Men’s Golf Committee, I would like to introduce the other members: Dan Comstock, Todd LaRocca, Peter Murphy, Dave Scherer, & Adam Zuffinetti. Please feel free to contact any one of us if you have any suggestions for golf activities you would like to see at the club in the future.

The Clambake Member Guest was a huge success with a full field. The next major tournament is the Member-Member coming up in September so please sign up now if you haven’t already. Adam Z has agreed to act as the tournament chair.

We have also added a new event, the 1’st Annual Rancho Santa Fe Men’s Match Play Championship. This tournament will begin October 15’th with the first matches in the weeks before the Game at the Ranch & the final 2 matches the weekend after the Game. There will be a poster going up very soon describing the event in more detail. We expect a great turnout & are working on the perpetual trophy to be displayed in the clubhouse.

Another issue the Committee is interested in is the accuracy of player’s handicaps. All the tournament committees will be looking at handicaps very carefully to insure a level playing field for all participants. Derek will be sending a letter soon from the Handicap Committee outlining the handicap enforcement protocols to all golf members & the strict policy of accurate & timely posting of scores; we know everyone will cooperate.
