The SCGA Ladies Amateur Tournament was played on our course on Monday, August 8th and Tuesday, August 9th. Lilia Vu of Fountain Valley came in first with a 6 under par final 210 score. Right behind her was Haley Moore of Escondido with a 4 under par final 212. Congratulations to the talented young women who competed.
September Events
Our next meeting day is September 6th. It will be a Par 3 game with an 8:00a.m. shotgun start. Have you signed up yet? More importantly, have you been practicing your chip shot?
Ladies President Cup Finalist - Deb Gustafson and Kate Grace will compete for the Presidents Cup title on September 8th. There will be a Consolation Stroke Play that day as well.
Sea Challenge - Our own Rancho Santa Fe team is in the final playoff for Net against Del Mar Country Club on September 15th. Go Team Go! Gross final playoff will be between Fairbanks Ranch and the Bridges on August 30th.
Upcoming Events
On October 4th, we will hold the Play for Pink Breast Cancer Tournament. There will be no regular Tuesday play that day because the tournament will commence at 12 noon. There will be a women’s division as well as a men’s division. Lots of fun and prizes. You can RSVP to kroberts@rsfgc.com. 100% of the proceeds go towards cancer research.
Ladies Classic Invitational at RSFGC on October 12 and 13. It includes 2 rounds of golf, cocktail party, shopping, hole in one prize and more. You can invite 1 or 3 guests. Watch for the sign-up in the Locker Room.
Note
As you know Madeline Javelet’s daughter, Jessica, was on the US Olympic Women’s Rugby Team. If you got to watch the Olympics, you saw them play - and they played lights out! Although they didn’t medal, they were the only team to tie the undefeated Australians, the gold medal winners. The US girls came in 5th behind England in 4th. Jessica played so well that the World Rugby group selected her, the only American, to be on their alternate team, the Rio Dream Team! That was quite an honor, and we’re so proud of our own Jessica!
